Brian Goggin: To leave post within three weeks.
Finance Minister Brian Lenihan informed his Fianna Fáil colleagues in Leinster House of the impending departure last night. And he said the Department of Finance will cap the salary of Mr Goggin’s replacement.
It had already been indicated Mr Goggin would be resigning in the near future but the speed of his departure took the party’s TDs and senators by surprise.
