THE Health Service Executive has clarified that its controversial mid-west review of hospital services will create six new advanced paramedics for north Tipperary — instead of six ambulances as had been claimed by a junior minister in the region.

In a statement after the controversial mid-west review was released by the HSE — over a year after it was formally concluded — Minister for Older People Máire Hoctor said she was “pleased to see that the HSE will make significant investment in providing six fully equipped ambulances for north Tipperary”.

The North Tipperary Fianna Fáil TD continued that patients “most at risk of serious trauma situations,” including those in farm and road accidents, would benefit from the investment.
