Quigg factors in talks on his future with King Louis

X FACTOR finalist, Eoghan Quigg will hold talks with Louis Walsh in the New Year about his future management and a tour with Boyzone.

The 16-year-old Derry singer, who lives at home in Dungiven with his two younger brothers and baby sister, was in Cork last night for a gig at Bondi Beach nightclub.

He said Louis Walsh, who also manages Westlife, has supported him since the start of his X Factor journey and he will start talks regarding his future with the pop mogul over the coming weeks.

It is understood, however, that Walsh will have to wait until next summer to sign Quigg as he is contractually bound to X Factor promoters for another six months.

Quigg also said talks are taking place which will see him tour with Boyzone next April.

The singer finished third in this year’s X Factor and his mentor Simon Cowell said he could leave with his head held high.

He has been caught up in a whirlwind of controversy concerning his relationship with fellow contestant, Diana Vickers.

He said he is in touch with all of the contestants, including Diana, since the show finished and added that the controversy surrounding a relationship with Diana was “weird”.

“We’re just friends. Who knows what will happen in the future,” he said.

He also said he would like to see Irish people having the opportunity to vote in next year’s X Factor.

“It’s not fair and it deprived me of a lot of votes,” he said.

The youngster, who took time out from school to participate in the hit show, said he would also love to record an album soon.

He is also hoping to move to London next summer to pursue a career in music.

Quigg is playing a series of gigs around Ireland over the coming weeks. He takes to the stage at the Syndicate Rooms in Tralee tomorrow, Oxygen in Waterford and Renaissance in Wexford on January 2. He is back at Bondi Beach in Cork on January 3 before playing in Dublin on January 4 and Limerick at the Ice Dome in Arthur’s Quay on the January 9. Tickets for all those gigs cost €25 and are available at the door.

Promoters, H2O said the response has been phenomenal.

“It has been bananas. We had girls crying when they picked up their tickets,” said a company spokesman.
