Who has the most to flaunt? TV3 screens Celebrity Rich List
In a new TV3 documentary, some of the country’s most well-known names talk about how they made their millions.
The Celebrity Rich List will identify the top 20 names and groups that have made their fortunes.
The programme, which will go out next Tuesday at 8pm, will reveal how much each celebrity is worth, what they are like as people and what they spend their fortune on.
Dominating the celebrity rich list lead is U2, with an estimated €900 million in wealth. Dancer Michael Flatley follows in second place with an estimated €590m.
The programme also features celebrity commentators and well-known public figures who give their opinions on celebrities’ fortunes.
Contributors to the programme include celebrity lawyer Gerald Kean, tailor Louis Copeland, former Miss Ireland and model, Andrea Roche, columnist Amanda Brunker, Lisa Murphy, and writer Fiona Looney.
In the programme, Lisa Murphy reveals there is no bad blood between herself and Michael Flatley after their public split. She says: “He was a great guy, extremely talented dancer. Look at what he did for Irish dancing — very driven, focused and very professional. A great guy, I have to say. I don’t have a bad word to say about him.”
Fiona Looney and Gerald Kean disagree on whether Cecelia Ahern’s wealth had anything to do with her father’s position as Taoiseach. On Cecelia’s first book contract, Fiona Looney says: “I have absolutely no doubt she got it because she is Bertie Ahern’s daughter. And anyone who is saying ‘she got it on merit’, ‘she got it on talent’ is lying.”
It is also revealed in the programme that the group Westlife at the start of their fame bought a fleet of matching red Ferraris, except for Brian, who had to be different, by buying a yellow one.
