The ceremony was presided over by the Bishop of Cork and Ross Dr John Buckley and was broadcast on the internet, to allow family members watch the ceremony from Poland.

The sacrament was conferred on the mixture of second-level students and older adults in St Augustine’s Church in the city centre, the religious hub of the region’s estimated 12,000-strong Polish community where up to 1,500 people attend Masses in Polish every Sunday.
