COVERT policing will be increasingly used by gardaí in the coming weeks to spot dangerous or drunken drivers following the launch of Operation Freeflow, the Christmas road safety enforcement campaign.

This year’s campaign will be carried out in two operations in the Dublin region, focusing on bad driving behaviour as well as preventing the build-up of traffic in areas.

Gardaí are warning motorists to expect to see mandatory alcohol test points and speed checkpoints from today.
