ALL Blacks rugby legend Jonah Lomu will switch on Limerick city’s Christmas lights on November 17, on the eve of the eagerly anticipated clash between Munster and New Zealand at Thomond Park.

Jonah Lomu was regarded as the first global superstar of rugby union and the all-time top try scorer in the rugby World Cup.

Events are being held over four days to mark the official opening of the new stadium. Limerick shops, pub and restaurants have begun dressing their windows in red and black colours for the big game at Thomond Park, which will be officially opened by the Taoiseach Brian Cowen prior to the game.
