WALKING has been found to be the most common form of exercise, far outpacing activities like golf or soccer.

The latest CSO figures reveal that walking, at 39.3%, was the main physical activity which active persons participated in most frequently for exercise, recreation or sport.

Aerobics and keep fit was the second most popular activity (13%), while swimming accounted for 8%.
