BRIAN COWEN has no mandate to continue with his government following the mess he has made of the budget, Labour leader Eamon Gilmore has told the Dáil.

The Taoiseach flew to China for state business last night and “left behind the biggest budget shambles left by any government in recent times,” according to Mr Gilmore.

“You are now in a position where you cannot get the budget through the house. In the course of time you will be forced into making other changes to what was announced in the budget,” he said.
