INCITING people directly or indirectly to commit terrorist offences is to be made a criminal offence under new legislation.

The development comes after Ireland signed the Council of Europe’s (CoE) Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism.

The convention makes public provocation to commit a terrorist act an offence, as well as criminalising recruitment and training for terrorism.
