Drugs case to continue
Barry Sheehan, from Teeveeny, Dromina, Charleville, Co Cork, was brought before a special sitting of Limerick District Court on Saturday and charged in connection with the seizure of €236,000 of cannabis in Charleville last Thursday.
About 25 kilos of the drug were found following a search of a house outside Dromina, between Kanturk and Charleville.
Acting on intelligence, officers attached to the Mallow unit of the Cork North Drugs Squad, the detective branch, and uniformed gardaà moved in on the two-storey house and discovered the drugs after a detailed search.
Sheehan was brought to court on Saturday after being charged with four drugs offences — with two counts of possession of cannabis and with two counts of possession with intent for sale or supply at Teeveeny, Dromina, on September 11.
Judge Aeneas McCarthy remanded Sheehan in custody with consent to bail on his own bond of €1,000 and an independent surety of €20,000 to appear in court again tomorrow.
Sheehan is due to appear before Kilmallock District Court, sitting in Bruff.
