Gardai search for two electrical store thieves
Camcorders, iPods, sat-navs and mobile phones were taken in the raid at the Flor Griffin electrical store in Bandon.
Gardaí were yesterday examining CCTV footage taken from the area in the hope of identifying the thieves who struck at 1.45am on Tuesday.
They broke a window at the store, which is situated on the Bandon bypass. They ransacked the display case and made off with the goods, which gardaí believe will be sold on.
It took the thieves just a few minutes to break in and make off with the stolen property.
Gardaí were quickly on the scene, but by the time they arrived the robbers had fled.
A senior garda spokesman said it was possible that the men had an accomplice waiting nearby in a getaway car.
“The two men were of average height. They wore face masks and gloves,” the spokesman said.
Gardaí say they are anxious to speak to anybody who was in the vicinity of the store from midnight on Monday to 2.30am on Tuesday.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Bandon garda station at (023) 41145.
