Boil water notice lifted on supply to 340 homes
The notice was put in place on August 20 following the detection of E-coli in the local water supply.
Paul Crowe, director of water services with Limerick County Council said: “We will continue to monitor the water supply to ensure compliance with water quality standards.”
Meanwhile, a boil water notice issued last week to residents in Pallasgreen village and surrounding areas remains in place.
More than 100 households remain affected in areas including Knockanea, Grange West, Castle Erkin, Woodfarm, Dromkeen, Drombane, Sunville, Garranemore, Dromlara, Lisheen, Ballyvoneen, Brackylea and Linfield.
Mr Crowe said: “Due to the recent heavy rainfall in the county, the Pallasgreen supply had been under continuous surveillance. Last week, E-coli was detected in the water supply.”
Water maybe used for flushing of toilets and for internal house plumbing, washing and bathing.
