Electric Eileens get ready to rock and roll at festival weekend

TWO grannies, dubbed the Electric Eileens, will be hosting a bingo bootcamp for revellers at the Electric Picnic music festival this weekend.

Grandmother Eileen Murphy and her pal, great-grandmother Eileen McGillycuddy from Co Kerry, turned up at last year’s event after they won tickets in a raffle. They jived to the Chemical Brothers, bopped at the silent disco, and collected marriage proposals from revellers young enough to be their grandsons.

This weekend the sprightly duo will be helping to mark the 60th birthday of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by giving free bingo lessons to festival-goers at the giant bingo tent.
