Ahern to defence as Kenny launches 100-day war on Cowen

THE Taoiseach and Enda Kenny traded blows last night over who was the real “failure” of Irish politics.

Ahern to defence as Kenny launches 100-day war on Cowen

Fine Gael leader Mr Kenny sparked the war of words with a scathing attack on Brian Cowen’s first 100 days in office. The leader of the opposition said Mr Cowen needed to get a grip “of himself and the economy” to avoid “untold damage” being done to the country following what he called three months of failure.

Responding on behalf of Mr Cowen and the Government, Justice Minister Dermot Ahern hit back at the attack, branding Mr Kenny an “infantile failure”.
