Hundreds suffer delays in 7-hour airport power cut

HUNDREDS of air passengers suffered delays yesterday after a seven-hour power cut at Cork Airport.

Check-in systems and baggage handling were affected but radar and air traffic control operations were not hit.

Manual check-in procedures had to be put in place, while luggage had to be carried by hand into thesorting areas, causing delays of an hour or more for many flights.
