Weapons seized in feuding crackdown

IN six days, a special team of gardaí have uncovered 37 home-made firebombs, slashhooks, swords, knives, pickaxe handles, a sawn-off shotgun, and several rounds of live ammunition from locations in Waterford.

In a series of concentrated searches, gardaí seized the significant amount of weapons in their bid to clamp down on the inter-family feuding which erupted again last weekend.

A total of 11 people have been arrested since Saturday — four of whom have already appeared before the local district court — while three more were yesterday being detained at Waterford Garda Station.
