‘Poorest of the poor’ to lose out as dole queues get longer

THE blame game over Ireland’s expanding dole queues shifted last night to concerns that cutbacks could hit the “poorest of the poor” in a bid to meet growing welfare payment demands.

The Government was accused of being complacent in creating jobs during the boom over the past decade.

The Taoiseach was personally responsible for a “botched handling of the economy”, it was claimed.
