THE gloves came off once more in the Dáil yesterday when opposition leaders argued with Taoiseach Brian Cowen over the economy and education.

A ceasefire of sorts was in place in the past fortnight as the Government, Fine Gael and Labour all campaigned for a yes vote in the Lisbon Treaty referendum.

But the ceasefire ended as several shouting matches erupted in the chamber yesterday morning during Leaders’ Questions.
