Enright wins fiction award

BOOKER prize winner Anne Enright last night added another literary award to her growing list of successes.

Enright wins fiction award

The 45-year-old was announced as winner of the €15,000 Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award for her novel, The Gathering, at the opening of Writers’ Week in Listowel.

The mother-of-two, who lives in Bray, Co Wicklow, had published essays, short stories, a non-fiction book and four novels before The Gathering — based on the travails of a large family and the suicide of a 39-year-old alcoholic brother — won the 2007 Man Booker Prize.
