4,600 patients to wait weeks for radiology review
Health Minister Mary Harney drew fire in the Dáil for her handling of the situation in the northeast which was sparked by concern over the work of a locum radiologist.
A review was ordered into the radiologist’s work after alarm bells started to ring, but when the matter became public in March, the HSE insisted no CT scans would be involved and rechecks would be on a relatively small scale.
