RTÉ series to focus on literacy

ONE in four adults in Ireland have difficulties with basic reading and writing skills, enough to affect their everyday lives and RTÉ will tonight launch an eight-part series that follows the lives of 11 people trying to radically change their lives forever.

All the participants in this TV series have one thing in common, they have problems with reading and writing.

The makers of the programme established a school for them in the Wicklow mountains where the 11 participants will be given eight weekends of intensive tuition and confidence building.
