Gardaí say funeral was not under threat of gun attack

The report claimed an armed gunman was arrested near Mount St Oliver Cemetery on April 11 during the funeral of feud victim James Cronin but Chief Supt Willie Keane said yesterday he was unaware of any such operation.

A man was arrested in another part of the city the night prior to the funeral carrying a loaded semi automatic handgun and detectives used a Taser to disarm him, the first time the gardaí used the Taser in an arrest.
