IT WAS a day of low life in high places.

As with so much else in our Taoiseach’s tangled tales, there is an episode of Father Ted to highlight his every action — and not just the scenes where our hero insists the money was just resting in his account.

The one that came to mind yesterday involves young Dougal being shown around the cockpit of a plane and despite being told not to press the big red button with “Don’t Press!” written on it, he just cannot resist and the flight plunges into free-fall.
