Tánaiste branded ‘accomplice’ to Ahern

FINE Gael leader Enda Kenny has branded Tánaiste Brian Cowen “an accomplice” to the “deceit” engaged in by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern at the Mahon Tribunal.

But Mr Cowen said Mr Kenny was trying to “brandish assertions as fact” and destroy Mr Ahern’s name.

Mr Cowen and Mr Kenny clashed during Leaders’ Questions in the Dáil yesterday, the segment of the daily agenda where the opposition leaders put questions to the Taoiseach.
