Awards beef up culinary prestige

FINE flavoured meats and superb cheeses have scooped Ireland’s culinary Oscars, announced in Dublin yesterday.

Kerry farmers Patrick and Anne Moran received an accolade of excellence for their traditional black-faced mountain lamb.

For four generations the Moran family from Maughernane, Waterville has bred and reared the sought-after sheep, first brought from Scotland in the mid-19th century.
