ON the fourth day of the Chinese New Year celebrations, John Rocha unveiled his latest collection at London Fashion Week taking inspiration from oriental festivals.

Lantern colours of red with shades of orange were seen on the catwalk, reflecting the elaborate decorations outside on the streets of London to mark the new lunar calendar.

The Chinese New Year is celebrated with the first full moon of spring and signifies an emergence from the black winter. Similarly for Mr Rocha, who said his collection marked “a new dawn as a designer” as he moved away from his trademark black-dominated collections with a burst of colour.
