€4.5m target for Daffodil Day as cancer cases set to hit 30,000 a year

The Irish Cancer Society said that figure could jump to more than 35,000 new cancer patients in 2015 and more than 41,000 by 2020.

Launching its 2008 Daffodil Day campaign, the society said general neglect of healthy lifestyles, as well as an increase in population age, were to blame for the pending 62% increase in cancer cases.
