O’Dea justifies criticism by FF of Mahon Tribunal

DEFENCE Minister Willie O’Dea last night justified criticisms of the Mahon Tribunal made by his Fianna Fáil colleagues over the Christmas period.

Mr O’Dea was responding to claims by Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny that FF had conducted “a sinister and orchestrated attack on the integrity” of the tribunal.

Mr Kenny, tabling a FG motion calling on the Dáil to reaffirm its confidence in the tribunal, said the attack was a “diversionary tactic” to distract the public from the evidence about lodgements to the Taoiseach’s personal accounts.
