Ahern dismisses public surveys

TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern has played down poll results that show the majority of people do not believe his evidence to the Mahon Tribunal.

The first poll, published Friday, showed four in five voters, or 78%, did not believe he had provided the full picture of his personal finances and tax liabilities to the tribunal.

The second poll, published Sunday, put a more direct question to respondents and found that one in two, or 54%, did not believe the evidence he had given.
