Government starts Lisbon Treaty ratification process

THE Government will today begin paving the way towards ratifying the Lisbon Treaty.

A bill, the 28th amendment of the constitution, will go to the Government tomorrow and will be discussed with opposition parties before being published next month.

This will allow for a late May or early June vote.
