Decision tonight on bin strike

A DECISION is expected tonight on when the planned bin strike in Waterford will get under way, following a last-minute deferral at the weekend.

The strike by 143 city council workers was due to start yesterday but was called off at the weekend after the sudden death of a staff member.

The 57-year-old man collapsed on Friday evening before the end of work and ambulance workers were unable to resuscitate him.
