ALMOST nine out of 10 Irish workers have been bullied during their careers, and a quarter suffer stress on a daily or weekly basis because of being picked on.

Recent research shows a third of workers have thought about quitting their jobs for a life abroad, while many regularly take sick days because of stress. Almost half believe “work rules their lives”.

The support group, Samaritans, yesterday published research stating bullying is “endemic” and “incredibly widespread” in Irish workplaces.
