FF faces Mahon confidence motion

FIANNA FÁIL ministers who launched attacks on the integrity of the Mahon Tribunal will be staunchly criticised in a Labour motion to be debated when the Dáil resumes.

In a move that stole Fine Gael’s thunder yesterday, Labour’s Joan Burton tabled a motion reaffirming the confidence of the Dáil in the Mahon Tribunal of inquiry into certain planning matters and payments.

She said that given the “sustained attacks” on the tribunal, it was now important that the Dáil reaffirm its confidence in it so that it can complete its mandate.
