FROM X-rays to skeletons, prospective young health professionals were given a clinical insight into the workings of the human body at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland’s (RCSI) 25th annual open day.

The event attracted about 400 secondary school pupils from across the country to the 220-year-old college where they were introduced to its schools of medicine, pharmacy and physiotherapy.

Through a series of short presentations from faculty professionals and students, the visitors learnt what they would face if they choose to enrol on one of the RCSI’s undergraduate courses.
