TEACHER union leader John Carr has rapped Education Minister Mary Hanafin’s delay in providing funds for school computers.

He claims she is “sitting” on an expert group’s report and holding up much-needed information technology funding to schools. He added one in five school computers are “clapped out”.

Under the National Development Plan, €252 million was earmarked for IT for primary and post-primary education. The NDP (2007-2013) was published in January 2007.
