Psychic: I’ve given gardaí names of teen’s killers

THE psychic who accurately predicted that the remains of abducted Limerick teenager Richard “Happy” Kelly would be found in a lake in Co Clare has said that he has given four names of those involved to gardaí.

Dennis McKenzie, who lives in Cambridge, England, travelled to Limerick yesterday to visit the teen’s mother, Mary Kelly, and pray at his grave.

Mr McKenzie, who gave his services without charge, last visited Ms Kelly in November. At that time, he used maps and keys belonging to the teen that, he says, led him to pinpoint Co Clare.

At that time, he said the body was in water not far from the Killaloe area.

He said yesterday: “The word ‘dyke’ kept coming to me and I assumed his body was in a dyke. And the name Bridget came to me, and Mary said that was her mother’s name, so I thought that was the connection. But had I a knowledge of the area and was familiar with the place names, I would have then pinpointed the location of the body. I did not know then that there was a place called Bodyke and a lake there named Lough Bridge, and that was where Happy’s remains were found.”

Mr McKenzie said he had given information to the gardaí at Roxboro Road station.

He said: “I have given them the names of four individuals and I have also given information about the car used.

He spent eight hours with Ms Kelly and other family members yesterday.

He said: “I visited the grave with them. It was Mary’s first visit since the funeral. She wanted me to be there. When other family members left we remained on. It was very traumatic.

“At the graveside we both cried. It was very sad for me even though I felt I had done my job. But for Mary any hope she had of Happy walking in the door with a big smile on his face has gone.

“A parent will always hold out a hope that somebody had gone to England or wherever, and that they will turn up safe and well. But that hope for Mary has now gone.”

He smiled when he talked of the car keys belonging to the teen — a known joyrider.

“They were Happy’s most personal item, the keys he used to steal cars with,” he said.

Gardaí suspect the teen, who went missing in April 2006, may have fallen foul of a drug gang by stealing a car in which they had stashed drugs.
