FF items show sentiment of times past

“WIVES! Get your husbands to work,” the poster blares. As election literature goes, the sentiment is, to say the least, a little outdated.

But in 1954, a certain party thought it was the perfect pitch to the female members of the electorate. The last line on the poster was: “Vote for Fianna Fáil”.

Now, political anoraks can get their hands on a copy of this and other election posters, as Fianna Fáil gets in on the memorabilia act.
