THE president of SIPTU last night warned the Government his union will not engage in the next social partnership talks if it does not start protecting agency workers.

However, Jack O’Connor also said his union would cooperate with discussions on competitiveness if the Government were to play its part.

Mr O’Connor told SIPTU officials in Cork that the government’s failure to achieve equality of treatment for agency workers remained a major problem.
