Fuel-guzzlers to be hit first in motor and fuel tax hike

BIG increases in fuel and motor taxes were signalled last night as the Cabinet met to hammer out next month’s “tough” Budget.

Green ministers indicated financial pressure would be applied to force people to switch to more environmentally friendly cars and types of energy.
