Gilmore to call for radical overhaul of Labour

LABOUR leader Eamon Gilmore last night signalled a radical overhaul of the party’s policies and outlook following its dismal general election showing.

A major attempt to reconnect Labour with voters is to be launched at the party’s conference next week.

A review of Labour’s role in a rapidly changing Ireland is to be conducted by a special commission following the party’s poor performance at the polls in May when it lost ground both in TD numbers and the popular vote.
