MORE than 400 students have been offered college places after their appealed Leaving Certificate marks were upgraded this month.

More than 2,000 subject grades issued in August were successfully appealed to the State Examinations Commission (SEC), which notified candidates of the outcome on October 10.

The same information was also notified to the Central Applications Office (CAO), which amended the points scores of those students who had applied through the CAO system for courses at more than 40 universities, institutes of technology and other colleges.
