TDs for €20,000 posts

INDEPENDENT TD Jackie Healy-Rae along with former Fianna Fáil ministers are expected to be appointed to key committee positions worth €20,000 on top of their lucrative salaries.

The Government’s chief whip Tom Kitt will introduce a Dáil motion this afternoon which will see the number of joint Oireachtas committees increase, by three, to 21.

The names of those who will chair the committees could be announced as early as today or tomorrow.
