Airport needs to be self-reliant, says O’Dea

WHEN the Cabinet meets today, Defence Minister Willie O’Dea intends to raise the Irish Examiner revelation that Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) kept Shannon in the dark over the Aer Lingus move on Shannon/Heathrow slots.

Mr O’Dea said he wants the Government to give Shannon Airport Authority (SAA) autonomy and to no longer be answerable to the DAA.

An emergency board meeting of the SAA has been convened to discuss this latest row on who knew what and when.
