Opposition demands independent investigation

OPPOSITION parties yesterday rounded on Transport Minister Noel Dempsey to explain why his officials knew, six weeks before him, of Shannon’s fate.

Both Labour and Fine Gael called for an independent investigation to establish the lapse in communications.

At the start of Dáil business, Limerick East’s Jan O’Sullivan said it was critical the Mr Dempsey be called to make a full statement to the House.
