PILOTS of helicopters and light aircraft have been urged to show consideration for livestock and poultry when flying close to farms.

The plea by the Irish Farmers’ Association follows a significant increase in the number of such flights in recent times.

Farmers have complained that the noise from helicopters and light aircraft tend to frighten and upset animals in fields and in buildings.
