Private helicopter owners warned of illegal use

THE owners of private helicopters have been warned against offering their aircraft for hire and reward by the Irish Aviation Authority.

The notice was issued as the IAA has become concerned that some pilots might be tempted into illegally hiring out helicopters for public transport use.

It follows the large growth in the number of helicopters registered to private owners in recent years.
