Healy-Rae backtracks on story

CLLR Michael Healy-Rae last night accepted that his father, Independent TD Jackie Healy Rae, was in receipt of the Party Leaders’ Allowance.

Earlier yesterday, Cllr Healy Rae told RTÉ that his father did not receive the money and that an Irish Examiner report saying otherwise was wrong.

RTÉ reported his denial by saying: “A source close to one of the Independents has denied the details [of the story] to RTÉ.”
