Tribunal lawyers under attack for inquiry ‘grilling’

BERTIE AHERN rounded on tribunal lawyers yesterday defending himself against the inquiry’s “grilling”.

During his five-and-a-half hour examination, Mr Ahern criticised the line of questioning by the inquiry several times.

Des O’Neill SC, for the tribunal, queried Mr Ahern about his role in five transactions totalling stg£68,000 over a 13-month period in the mid 1990s.
