Light and heat cutbacks at CUH to rein in costs
Staff at Cork University Hospital, which includes the new state-of-the-art maternity hospital, have been asked to turn off the lights in rooms not in use, and turn the heating off in store rooms and corridors, in an effort to curb spending and balance the budget before the end of the year.
Managers with responsibility for buying supplies have also been asked to negotiate better deals with suppliers.
